Are you interested in hiking along the river Inn to get in touch with the diverse ecosystems and to raise awareness for endangered species? Then join this year’s Riverwalk for a fluid sustainable outdoor group experience that you won‘t forget!
What exactly is the Riverwalk?
The Riverwalk 2023 is a week-long hike with a group of young (20 to 30 years old) people along the river Inn. Anthropocentrism has ensured that most rivers have been massively impacted by humans. In the last hundred years, man has changed rivers so much that he created new — previously unimagined — problems for himself and other species. With the riverwalk we will try to address these problems with a colourful, versatile programme. There have been several Riverwalks across Europe in the last years.
During this years Riverwalk we will focus on possible human and non-human connections to find new ways of overcoming a collective freeze response and feelings of paralysis caused by environmental issues. While we hike, camp and cook outside we will host and participate in workshops to learn more about the river system and its endangerment, how to think and practice sustainable activism and how to tell new fruitful water stories in times of crisis.
